LYTOLOMA ELEGANS

Crocodile

Late Cretaceous — Early Paleocene. Evidence of the seagoing reptile, Lytoloma elegans, has been found in deposits of the Atlantic coastline of West Africa, the interior of the Sahara, North Africa and Western Europe. The present example is a fine specimen recovered from the famous phosphate beds near Khouribga, Morocco. Exhibited from the plastron (belly) side, with a custom frame. Frame measures 25 x 24 1/3 x 2 inches.
